Most of the work on this one is the part nobody sees. Finsa SuperPan airtight boards went onto the ceiling rafters and were taped with Pro Clima tape, junctions at the floor joists were sealed, a liquid airtight membrane was brushed where tape could not reach, and grommets went round every drainage penetration.
Sockets sit on Phonotherm structural insulation board so they can be fixed securely without punching through the insulation line. Then the walls: battens first, then Diathonite Evolution lime-cork-clay plaster sprayed in layers to reach the thickness needed, levelled off by hand. There is also an unused window blocked up in matching brick and a new suspended floor structure, both done while the house was open.

If you want a genuinely warm old house rather than a slightly less cold one, the airtightness is not the optional extra. It is most of the result.
