Diathonite Evolution lime-cork-clay plaster was sprayed onto the solid walls, carried down to the floor structure level and up into the wall-ceiling junction so there is no cold line left at either end.
In the roof, battens were fixed to the sides of the rafters first to keep a ventilation gap above the insulation, then Pavatex Isoroof and flexible wood fibre between the rafters and boards fixed across the ceiling with a lime-based adhesive. Reveals were insulated with a thin board, and everything finished in Baumit lime-based breathable plaster.
Adam and his team designed and installed a natural insulation solution for our Victorian house. He really understands air tightness and cold bridging and ecological construction methods. I had really been struggling to find a builder who was willing to install anything other than insulated plasterboard, and I wanted to use lime plaster and breathable natural insulation products that worked well with a period property. Adam Iles and Eco-Renovation UK provided an amazing service, travelling from Hemel Hempstead to Southampton with his team. The cost was very reasonable too. He combines his knowledge with efficiency and cheerfulness, and simply gets on with the job without fuss and with cost savings always in mind. I was very impressed and would definitely recommend Eco-Renovation if you are looking for specialist insulation works using an ecological construction.

Walls and roof together is the usual answer for a Victorian house, because insulating one and not the other just moves where the cold gets in.
